The entry criteria was to demonstrate our achievements against significant improvements through system or processes and a best in class operation. We were able to demonstrate a £35k pa cost saving through the implementation of Alloc8, a cash allocation tool. Throughout the project, we sought best practise, engaged with external customers and like minded Credit professionals to ensure the right solution was chosen. Our ‘Best in class’ badge was underpinned by QICM which we were awarded with earlier in the year. We called out the implementation of a skills ladder which was driven by the teams for implementation and an improvement in our My Say engagement from 55% to 75% as key achievements.

The entry criteria was to demonstrate our achievements against Targets, facilitating business change, implementing new processes and systems and team work. Our key shouts outs were a 19% reduction in aged debt, the centralisation of Credit Control from 4 teams to a centre of excellence in Warrington and the outsource of SME to Transcom in Manila. The successful transition of the cash allocation team from Finance into Credit Control which resulted in a 55% reduction in unallocated cash from £9m to £4m and a forged working partnership with the Carrier team which led to a 23% reduction in the Carrier aged debt.

QICM accreditation

QICM (Quality in Credit Management) is an industry accreditation which is externally assessed against 6 key criteria, similar to ISO9001 (However, specifically geared towards Credit Management) They are: Credit policy, Compliance, Customer services, Personal and professional development, Performance measurement and Stakeholder management. The accreditation is a rigorous 2 stage process, pre final assessment. We were awarded the accreditation by Philip King, the CEO of the Institute of Credit Management and at the time, were one of only 40 companies in the UK to have achieved.
